KnutsenOAS Office

The strategy of the fleet is based on the development of projects from design to operation. The vessels are designed to meet the exact specifications of our charterers.

While the North Sea and Northern Europe have been the main area of operation, Knutsen OAS are now meeting new and exciting challenges in more distant waters, carrying LNG from Egypt to Spain and oil transportation on the Canadian shelf of Newfoundland and Labrador. The contract with Spanish energy company Union Fenosa has a 25-year duration, and the LNG/C Cadiz Knutsen will according to plans be kept occupied in the Mediterranean Sea as part of the Spaniards’ ambitions to replace coal with natural gas. Our two new shuttle tankers built in South Korea are being operated by Canship Ugland, carrying oil for Husky Energy from the White Rose field outside Newfoundland.

In line with our strategy to offer tailor made transportation solutions to the world’s leading energy companies we have also developed and approved a ship for transportation of pressurized natural gas (PNG). We believe it is only a question of time before this market opens up and we wish to be in the front line when it comes to transportation of PNG.
